Plagerism?

Beth, Greg and I were brainstorming baby names for Beth's new niece. I suggested one.

Greg: Oh no, that was the name of our crazy student in Colorado. She tried to plagiarize the Bible.

Me (laughing): What?

Greg: Yeah, she got up in front of the class with her "poem." She started out reading, "The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want..." and all the kids looked around at each other saying, "I think I've heard this before.."

She said, "No you didn't! I just wrote it!"

Now, if it were like our little kids they might have been like, "Oh, okay." But these were 9th graders. She kept insisting that she just wrote that poem.

We had to say, "Please sit down."
